The Committed HR Manager Deserves that honour.
Who do you think deserved it most?
TIME persons of the year 2020 were Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
An apt choice.
"The Biden-Harris ticket represents something historic" Time tweeted. "For changing the American story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the TIME's 2020 Person of the Year"
According to you, who deserved to be the Person of the Year 2020?
There can be several views.
- Some countries recognized health workers as Persons of the Year because they risked their lives to protect the community.
- Some might say technology wizards - for the fantastic online solutions they developed for a world where untouchability is the norm.
- You may even suggest that the police (when they do not beat-up people) and frontline government workers are among the deserving.
The list can be long.
However, in my opinion, the HR Manager is the Person of the Year 2020.
COVID-19 was the moment of truth for organizations to realize that people are the cornerstone of every progress they make.
When COVID struck, HR managers made Work from Home (WFH) actually work. They worked with other departments and ensured that staff could work, even if they could not reach the workplace. They established Health and Safety protocols that would protect staff from an invisible enemy. They ensured that companies, businesses, and people are least impacted.
HR Managers had to innovate every HR process to fit into the demands of a socially distanced world. They revised the systems of recruitment, training, and performance management as they fought to neutralize the impact of the pandemic.
So, our Person of the Year 2020 goes to HR Managers.
